Yesterday madi had so much fun at a group play date & I did too, the moms in that group are great!
When we got home we went out and enjoyed the snow a little... Madison really enjoys it!

Humm ... well where do I start.
This weekend we had a blast. We went sledding, got ice cream with daddy, and had some just great relaxing time.
Yesterday was a huge play date for Madison and the house was a wreck when all was said and done. Madison and I also created a "red" basket filled full of red items (red popsicles, red Elmo, red apple..etc) to help Madison learn her colors.
Today was absolutely beautiful! We had a soft slow snow all day, it looked like everything was getting dusted with powdered sugar.. It was literally picturesque, I wish everyone I know was here to witness it. Good news is.. It's still snowing so it should a winter wonderland in the morning!

Friday night in Red Oak

Zach and I had our first date night in Red Oak last night. Some neighbors watched Madison and we were able to go get dinner.
So at 7:45pm dinner was over and I refused to go home before 8pm, so we went to Kmart (the only place to go).. At 8pm they turned the lights off & closed the doors!
We closed down the Kmart! Wow! So... We were home by 8:15pm!

Fresh bread!

Oh I almost forgot to post about my newest favorite thing! My mom got me a bread machine & I've been whipping up homemade bread all week! First was white sandwich bread, yesterday was French bread so I could make delicious garlic cheese bread!
I will never buy store bought bread again ;)

Snow day fun day

It is actually such a gorgeous day out today, sunny & no wind! Perfect weather to play in the snow!

Snow Storm

Well this week was mostly a prepping week for the "Epic" snow storm of the year according to the news forecasts.
Wednesday, Madison and I went into Omaha and bought out ALDI and Super Target... Okay not really, but Zach had me convinced that I need to buy enough food in case we were snowed in for many days.
So I had my snow storm menu all planned out.. it included tons of comfort food, desserts and hot chocolate. 
Yesterday  the storm began around 11am and it was pretty underwhelming... we only got about 7 inches total, and for here in Iowa thats no big deal at all.
However, Zach and I invited the neighbors up for delicious baked ziti, garlic cheese bread, wine and rice crispy treats.

Lincoln.. Go Big Red

Well let me start with Friday.. Madi was adorable at the library time with her friends.. It was a blast learning all about pizzas..we even made our own dessert pizza for a craft.
Friday night Zach & I extended valentines day by making an awesome meal after Madison went to bed..pan seared steak, steak fries, yummy fennel and green bean salad, oh! and this olive cheese bread from Pioneer woman.. Awesome !
Saturday morning we headed off to Lincoln Nebraska for the day. We walked around the University of Nebraska campus, we and saw the state Capitol building and finished up with some awesome pizza at a local college joint, Yia Yias.

Well this week was valentines & madi & I had so much fun.
We made cupcakes and delivered them to neighbors, made crafts & ate tons of sweets and chocolate.. Oh February how I love thee...
Now time for Zach and I to enjoy our heart shaped pizza & wine.. Happy valentines!

Home sweet .. Oh No!

Well we just got back from Fort Worth & I was ready to just get back put on my pjs & relax.. Our dogs had other plans for us..

Wow.. Madi and I have been in Fort Worth for just a short little visit and it's been so great to get away from the snow and into amazing weather!
We went to the stockshow, played with old friends and saw our family..
I truly miss Texas.
