Of Mice &... Jenny

Well I've managed to catch 2 mice since moving. It's sad I've had to catch them, cause they're so cute...but not cute enough to share our house!

I saw our first deer in the yard this morning... So did Lola (she was going crazy).

I managed to finish painting the guest bathroom today, so those of you that come & visit won't be subject to the horrible wallpaper.

Maybe tomorrow I can start to conquer the basement.

Bonfire

Today was extremely productive!

We moved the majority of Zach's stuff from Grandpas to our house & managed to get the treadmill moved in as well (which was a huge feat in it's own).
Madi got her hand snapped in a mouse trap today, it was quite scary to hear your daughter scream & see her little hand caught.. But she was fine, not even a bruise.
Zach learned to drive a huge mower today.. It was fast & I know he thoroughly enjoyed it.
We also had a bonfire to burn all the boxes & paper and junk from the move.
It was fun & a ton of work. We were going to attempt a weenie roast, however we ended up just roasting marshmallows. Yumm!

Feeling like Home

We'll Audri left today to head back to Texas. So sad :( we both cried... however she was mainly crying over Madison. Haha
I will miss seeing her every day.

We managed to start getting the house to look like home today... Of course it still needs work, but it feels pretty good to have a roof over our heads and be one family again.

Sore..oh so sore

Well I worked all day & I think the house just looks like a tornado went through it...
However my fridge is now hooked up and beer is in it (so I managed to accomplish that task).

My back is so sore, I can't believe it could be two more months before I can get through this stuff!! Agggh so much junk!

Maybe by tomorrow I can have our bedroom set up so we can at least sleep there!

Moving Day!!

Moving day is officially over...except we have boxes everywhere.. Oh and trash.

I can't believe how much stuff we have!

Even full of all the stuff it seems we are missing things. Crazy!

All that said...I think the house will look great when we have everything finished!

We're officially in Iowa

Well...after a very long car ride Audri, Madi & I made it to Iowa around 6:30pm.

It was so awesome to step out and see Zach.

Our furniture gets delivered tomorrow! Hopefully it all makes it & I can find a place for everything.

On the road!!

Well Audri and I left at 7:15 this morning. We just stopped for our breakfast fix in "somewhere" Oklahoma. Smooth sailing now, but that traffic on 35 this morning kept us going slow! Where else does it take 45 minutes to go 15 miles?!

Tears

We'll it's my last night in Fort Worth.
It's been a great day with family; ate breakfast with my dad & grandma, saw my mom & mike for dinner, and spent the evening with Zachs parents.
It has been an emotional last day...and while I am so excited to get to Iowa and be with my husband for good, it is also bittersweet to leave friends and family behind.

I will miss everyone so much.. I'm not sure how I'm going to make it without the people who make Zach, Madi, & my life so special.

We will miss you all. I promise to think, pray for you, & call often!

I wanted to do a post to Thank the Corens.. The Coren family has hosted Madison & I for a long time...while our family has been in transition to Iowa. You truly know hospitality & kindness.

The moving Plan

Okay... Car is packed, playlist for the drive is set & my buddy Kindel provided a great car package of snacks & games for Madison.

Audri, Lola & Diddy (ours dogs), Madison & I head out on the 10+ hour drive to Iowa on Monday!

The plan is to be on the road by 7am, so we can make it before Zach gets off work. Lets hope all goes well... It's quite a haul with two dogs & a child under 2. Haha

First Post

Okay TEST TEST TEST....
Want to get this thing up and running before I leave Fort Worth for Red Oak IA.

For those of you who don't know my husband and I decided not to do the Facebook thing... and all my friends and family asked that I do a monthly newsletter to keep them up to date with our family.. and I thought "How Old Am I...a Newsletter????"  So I decided to start a blog (seemed more HIP) and give everyone an insight to my daily adventures (and well..non-adventures) with my move to Iowa.

I actually just got back from a weekend trip to Iowa to see my wonderful hubby and we had quite a lovely time.
We paid a visit to the Omaha Zoo.  While it was 37 degrees out (not something us Texans are used to at the very start of October).. it was still so much fun.  It was huge and was a place we will soon be returning too once the weather warms up in the spring and summer.

We also visited a local apple orchard and had a wonderful time. We've never picked our own apples, but it was quite a refreshing experience. Then I made a great apple crisp!  Oh... and Madison lost a shoe during the escapade, so sad they were the cutest little snow boots.

But all in all... it was a great weekend and I am ready to get up there.  My urge to learn to sew and garden is roaring... however I have a feeling the snow and cold might put the gardening on hold until Spring.
